Our client is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their accounting team and play a key role in managing revenue accounting for oil and gas production. This position will be responsible for recording and reconciling production revenue, preparing internal and external reporting, supporting regulatory requirements, and ensuring accurate and timely payments to royalty and working interest owners.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and experience with oil and gas revenue accounting, production volumes, royalties, and regulatory reporting.

Job Details
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly revenue allocations for operated oil and gas properties.Process monthly payments and accounting for non-operated revenue.Prepare and file regulatory reports, including severance and conservation tax reports, with applicable state and federal agencies.Facilitate ONRR royalty payments related to company production from federal leases.Respond to inquiries from royalty and working interest owners and assist with owner relations.Monitor revenue receipts to ensure timely purchaser payments and reconcile receipts to company-metered production volumes.Coordinate the preparation and distribution of monthly royalty owner statements.Research and resolve royalty owner inquiries related to payments, production, pricing, and ownership interests.Perform monthly and ad-hoc analyses of realized pricing, production volumes, and product yields.Prepare revenue support and source documentation for internal and external audits.Assist with month-end close activities related to production revenue.Support accounting leadership with special projects, process improvements, and other revenue-related analyses as needed.Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience in oil and gas revenue accounting strongly preferred.Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles and oil and gas production accounting practices.Experience with royalty payments, working interests, production volumes, purchaser receipts, and owner relations.Familiarity with ONRR reporting and federal lease royalty requirements.Experience with state severance and conservation tax reporting preferred.Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, auditors, purchasers, royalty owners, and regulatory agencies.
