Join Manhattan Associates as a Senior Accounting Manager and lead a high-performing team responsible for accurate, timely financial reporting and robust internal controls across our growing global business. In this role, you’ll oversee complex accounting operations, drive process and systems improvements, and serve as a strategic partner to finance and business leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly revenue accounting for various revenue streams including cloud revenue, software licenses, and maintenance, ensuring proper revenue cut-off and integrity.  Ensure monthly close deadlines established by management are met consistently and that reported results are accurate and in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Manage all aspects of billing for cloud, software licenses, and maintenance.  Ensure integrity of A/R reports and review/monitor outstanding receivables.
  • Serve as global subject matter expert on revenue recognition and billing functions, monitor and assist other regions to ensure global consistency of policies and procedures.
  • Oversee calculation of sales related bonuses and commissions and royalties.
  • Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, problem resolution, and continuous process improvement; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations, including receivables, deferred revenue, and accrued commission and royalties, are completed on a timely basis, contain adequate information and support, and have no major unknown reconciling items; assist with reconciliations as needed and review and approve reconciliations.
  • Maintain SSP (stand-alone selling price) analyses for our various products and services.
  • Interface frequently with all levels of management as well as external parties (financial institutions, vendors, auditors, etc.)
  • Provide customer service to internal and external parties related to revenue recognition and invoicing; ensure that questions are resolved timely.
  • Alert Director and/or Corporate Controller as potential accounting issues are identified; document issue and resolution, including supporting accounting literature, as needed.
  • Oversee company adherence to proper segregation of duties and internal controls.
  • Proactively seek and assume additional responsibilities and projects
  • Assume lead role in special projects as needed such as system improvements and implementations, integration of acquired businesses, etc.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • 7+ years relevant accounting and management experience in the software and/or services industry.  Experience leading a revenue and billing team preferred.
  • CPA preferred, not required
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP with ability to identify, research, and resolve issues
  • Public company experience in Sarbanes-Oxley environment preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Solid critical thinking skills; demonstrated ability to identify issues, propose and implement solutions
  • Strong leadership and team building skills; ability to hire, train, mentor and manage employees and address performance issues.  Demonstrated ability to adapt management style for all levels of staff to cultivate a high-performing, positive environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement best practices, procedures, and systems; constantly drives for improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong decision making and analytical skills.  Must be able to interact with all levels of management and non-management personnel.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Highly organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
