About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant to join our Independent Pricing Verification (IPV) team, specializing in the valuation and risk analysis of Residential and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS/CMBS).
This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in fixed income markets, valuation methodologies, and risk analytics while contributing to the integrity of Wells Fargo's financial reporting and risk management framework.Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo's financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, treasury, tax management, and the company's investment portfolios. In this role, you will:
- Perform daily valuation governance and price validation activities for Residential and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities, including independent assessment of trader marks, valuation exceptions, and pricing discrepancies.
- Review, analyze, and challenge pricing models, market data, valuation methodologies, and reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to governance standards.
- Be responsible for production processes, data reconciliation, valuation documentation, and model governance in alignment with risk and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve valuation, data, production, and modeling issues while ensuring timely delivery of IPV and Risk Analytics commitments.
- Monitor, escalate, and report valuation risks, breaches, and control exceptions, partnering with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to drive resolution.
- Lead or participate in moderately complex risk analytics and valuation control initiatives, delivering insights and decision strategies to support Independent Price Verification (IPV) and risk management objectives.
- Collaborate with business partners to support new product reviews, pricing methodology enhancements, valuation adjustments, and control framework improvements.
- Lead projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to process optimization, automation, and increased operational efficiency.
- Partner across Enterprise Risk and Control functions to develop consistent valuation, modeling, and governance practices across asset classes.
Required Qualifications, US:
- 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Business, or another quantitative discipline.
- Experience in Valuation Control, Independent Price Verification (IPV), Product Control, Market Risk, or Capital Markets functions within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of fixed income securities valuation, market data analysis, pricing methodologies, and valuation control frameworks.
- Expertise in structured and credit products, including RMBS, CMBS, ABS, CLOs, and related fixed income instruments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Capital Markets, Trading, Product Control, IPV, Market Risk, or Valuation teams, with a preference for RMBS and CMBS exposure.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative capabilities with the ability to evaluate complex securities, assess valuation risks, challenge assumptions, and provide actionable business insights.
- Proficiency with SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and other data analytics, reporting, and visualization tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting analyses, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented professional with sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
