Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll build and operate the systems behind VRAI's eCommerce platform. You'll ship customer-facing features and help make architectural decisions that directly impact the business.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack features (Next.js, NestJS, AWS Lambda).
• Design and optimize data, caching, and performance (MongoDB, Redis, CDN).
• Integrate with third-party platforms (Shopify, CMS, ERP).
• Debug and operate production systems across distributed services.
• Implement event-driven and async workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack experience with TypeScript / Node.js
• Strong experience with React and Next.js in production.
• Solid understanding of databases, caching, and performance tuning.
• Experience operating systems in AWS/serverless environments.
• Comfortable shipping in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment. (Nice to have: Monorepos, high-traffic eCommerce, ERP integrations, CI/CD automation).

$140,000 - $170,000 a year

Physical Requirement:

• Mandatory Onsite: The specific nature of this role requires physical presence at a designated VRAI facility for all scheduled work hours. This requirement applies only to positions explicitly designated as Onsite in the job description, such as showroom roles, and does not supersede any agreed-upon remote or hybrid working arrangements for other VRAI positions.
• This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
• Lift/carry and push/pull up to 25 pounds
