StubHub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Web Foundations team within Consumer App Foundations (CAF).
Web Foundations is responsible for building and evolving the core web platform that powers all consumer-facing experiences across StubHub. Rather than focusing on individual features, this team designs and maintains the shared architecture, frameworks, services, and tooling that enable hundreds of engineers to ship high-quality experiences at scale.
As a Senior Software Engineer on Web Foundations, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our consumer web ecosystem. You will drive architectural improvements, elevate engineering standards, and build scalable fullstack systems that accelerate innovation across the organization.

Consumer App Foundations (CAF) operates horizontally across StubHub to provide shared infrastructure, standards, and platform capabilities that power every consumer product team.
The Web Foundations team focuses on:
- Core frontend and fullstack architecture
- Shared frameworks, component libraries, and design system integration
- Platform services and APIs supporting consumer workflows
- Performance, reliability, and scalability at marketplace scale
- Developer tooling and experimentation enablement
- Establishing engineering guardrails that make quality the default
We partner closely with product, design, AI, and infrastructure teams to ensure StubHub’s consumer platform remains cohesive, performant, and future-ready.What You'll Do:
- Design and evolve core frontend and backend platform architecture
- Build reusable fullstack systems, libraries, and services used across multiple product teams
- Lead technical initiatives that improve performance, reliability, and developer velocity
- Drive cross-team architectural alignment and reduce system complexity
- Establish best practices around testing, observability, scalability, and maintainability
- Contribute to experimentation-ready infrastructure and feature enablement tooling
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization
- Influence long-term platform strategy while remaining hands-on in implementation
What You've Done:
- 6–10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience building modern fullstack applications (React, JavaScript/TypeScript + backend technologies such as C#, Java, Python, or similar)
- Experience designing scalable frontend or platform-level architectures
- Deep understanding of performance optimization, system design, and distributed service interactions
- Proven track record of leading complex initiatives from concept through production
- Experience supporting multiple teams through shared platforms or reusable systems
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to have:
- Experience building or evolving design systems or shared component libraries
- Experience with experimentation platforms, feature flagging systems, or A/B testing frameworks
- Experience supporting high-traffic, global consumer applications
- Experience operating in AI-enabled or experimentation-first environments

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
