What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Design large-scale distributed systems and build optimal solutions involving complex data pipelines for a big data application. Implement features for Walmart's Search Engine Marketing Platform to drive incremental traffic and revenue for the eCommerce business. Develop automated tools for in-depth analysis of petabytes of data, providing optimization signals for SEM Managers to run efficient campaigns. Design and build scalable Enterprise Applications. Develop and enhance microservices to facilitate Walmart Suppliers and Marketplace sellers in building and running SEM campaigns at scale on Google and Bing Ad Engines. Design tools to enable self-service functionalities, reducing engineering overhead. Develop real-time ETL pipelines that download traffic reports from Ad Engines and orders from Walmart's order management system and execute attributions. Provide technical guidance to junior members in the team. Continuously monitor the health of data pipelines and implement strategies to reduce system inefficiencies, perfective and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis. Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible. Ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills Required: Experience creating a user interface dashboard using Angular. Experience developing REST API endpoints for self-serve components using Node.js. Experience creating monitoring and alert tools for application health using Java Spring. Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language. Experience designing and querying relational databases and NoSQL databases. Experience building data pipelines using Apache Airflow. Experience working with big data database Apache Hive. Experience using Python scripts to manage Google Ads and Bing Ads. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year.  Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
