We’re seeking a Senior Design Solar Engineer to lead and elevate the engineering function for utility?scale and commercial solar energy projects. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a seasoned solar professional who wants to make a real impact—driving technical excellence, mentoring teams, and delivering high?quality solar projects from concept through commissioning.

What You’ll Do
In this senior leadership role, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of solar engineers across multiple projects
- Oversee the engineering design of solar PV systems, including layout, electrical, structural, and civil components
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Collaborate closely with project management, construction, procurement, and business development teams
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Provide technical leadership during project development, permitting, construction, and commissioning phases
- Identify and implement engineering best practices, process improvements, and cost efficiencies
- Support site visits and field troubleshooting as needed
- Travel up to 25% to project sites, meetings, and stakeholder engagements
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field required; Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years of solar energy engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong hands?on experience with initial solar PV system design
- Proven success managing engineering teams and large?scale solar projects
- In?depth knowledge of solar PV systems, interconnection requirements, and grid standards
- Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, UL, and applicable permitting and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with solar design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience in designing utility?scale solar projects from scratch
- Background working cross?functionally with EPC or renewable energy organizations
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
