Job Summary

This role requires a passionate, creative and strategic communicator to join our team as the Workforce Engagement Communications Sr. Specialist, which will report to the Workforce Engagement Communications Manager. In this role, you will assist the Workforce Engagement Communications Manager with supporting employee and labor relations and other centers of excellence within Human Resources to ensure strategic and consistent communications planning across the organization. You will be responsible for developing and delivering communication strategies that enhance the employee experience, foster engagement, and reinforce a culture of trust, respect and belonging. You will craft clear, compelling messages that inform, inspire, motivate, and connect employees with Mass General Brigham’s mission, values, and strategic goals. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of supporting developing and implementing strategies and programs in large, complex organizations, be comfortable building collaborative working relationships within highly matrixed organizations and be comfortable navigating ambiguity and change. Additionally, this role coordinates with leaders across the MGB Marketing and Communications team and the organization, to understand and distill high-level business priorities and translates those into actionable and coordinated internal communication programs in support of the systems overall mission and vision.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, business, health care,humanresourcesor a related field, master’s degreea plus.
3+ years of communications, marketing, human resources, employee engagement, change management and/or consulting experience
Knowledge and experience in Human Resources, Employee and Labor Relations, labor communicationsand bargaining processes, and HR operations preferred.
Experience in supportingemployee engagement, building cultureand/or change managementduringlarge-scale complexpeople,technologyor process changes,including developing communications plans, stakeholder analysis, developing training materials and talking points and ability to create targeted messages for a variety of communications outlets.
A track recordofconsistentlymeeting deadlines, performancemeasuresand service standards.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills including a thorough understanding of correct grammar.
Knowledge of Mass General Brigham institutions, communicationchannelsand processes a plus.
Knowledge and proficiency in the use of communication-based technology platforms.
Must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines and be flexible and adaptable to unexpected changes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Under the direction of theWorkforce EngagementCommunications Manager,collaborates withHuman Resourcesand other functional areas, including Employee & Labor Relations,Talent, Total Rewards, other HR Centers of Excellenceand the Office of General Counsel, supports designing communication strategies that foster a collaborative,supportiveinclusive, respectful workplaceenvironment.
Partners with key internal stakeholdersto supportprograms related to employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and workplace excellence through targeted communication plans.
Assistswith developing content that improvesthe employeeexperience, drives engagement and support connection across the organization.
Supports development of high-quality contentthat cultivates a positive workplace experience and a supportive culturebased in trust,inclusionand respectvia a variety of internal channels, including town halls, newsletters, intranet posts, presentations, videos, and more.
Collaborates with teams to deliver clear and transparent messaging during organizational changes, including changes to policies,programsand practices, ensuring employees are informed and supported throughoutorganizationaltransitions.
Under the direction of the Workforce Engagement Communications Manager supports issues management and emergency preparedness projects and initiatives.
Supports managing and evaluating internal communication channels,leveragingdata and feedback tooptimizereach and effectiveness.
Champions initiatives that reinforce a positive,respectfulandtrust-centeredworkplace culture.
Activelyseeksand incorporates employee feedback into communication strategies to ensure alignment with employee needs and expectations.
Stays abreast of best practices, emerging trends and technologies in healthcare, human capital, human resources,laborand change management to continuously improve content and delivery methods.
In collaboration with theWorkforce EngagementCommunicationsManager, makes recommendations for analyzing success of communications strategies and tactics through targeted metrics and supports evaluating and incorporating performance metrics and insights into strategic planning and communications initiatives to drive impact.

Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
Knowledgeof the principles, practices and techniques ofemployee engagement,changemanagementandstrategiccommunication development and delivery.
A solid understanding of how communication strategies, tactics and vehicles support employee engagementand culture-building as well asstrategic communications.
Familiarity with managing activities supporting stakeholder analysis, changeimpact assessment, survey development, training materials, communications plans,workforceand executive communications.
Innovative mindset and able to research the latest trends, tools, and apps to supportand buildemployee engagementandanenhancedemployeeexperienceleveragingcommunications.
Ability to understand and communicate complex ideas, including problem-solving skills necessary to gather and interpret data,and to diagnose needs.
Advanced interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively asa partof multiple teams/projects/initiatives.
Excellent publicspeakingand presentation skills.
Experience working within a large, matrixed organization.
Proven success in communication strategies across multiple channels and employee engagement.
Requires minimal direction from leadership andpossessesthe ability to learn quickly.
Demonstrates key characteristics of a world-class communication function including trust, focus, empowerment, accountability, and ownership andoperatingwith a ‘one team’ mentality.
Effective communication skills, e.g., collaborative open style, working in teams, strong written and oral communicator, strategic problem solver with ability to execute plans, calm under fire, go-to person.
Excellent project planning and organizational skills, and the ability toassistwith developing communication programs andlogisticsinvolvinggreat detail.
The ability tooperateeffectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Requires minimal direction from leadership andpossessesthe ability to learn quickly.

Working Conditions:
Hybrid, requires travel to MGB hospital sites andheadquarters in Somerville, MA as needed.
Monday to Friday, occasionalweekendsand extended hours.
