Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Stardog Database Administrator (DBA) / Knowledge Graph Engineer with 3+ years of experience administering Stardog or comparable graph database platforms to support enterprise healthcare data and analytics initiatives.

This role is responsible for managing, optimizing, and advancing the organization's knowledge graph platform to enable healthcare analytics, interoperability, data governance, semantic integration, and AI-driven solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with data engineers, architects, clinical informatics teams, analysts, product owners, and software engineers to support operational, financial, quality, and clinical healthcare use cases.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Databricks, or modern cloud-based analytics platforms is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge Graph & Graph Database Administration

Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain Stardog environments across development, test, and production environments.

Ensure platform availability, scalability, security, reliability, and performance.

Administer enterprise knowledge graph solutions supporting healthcare analytics, interoperability, benchmarking, quality reporting, and AI initiatives.

Optimize SPARQL queries, semantic reasoning performance, indexing strategies, and large-scale graph workloads.

Implement and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.

Manage RDF, OWL, RDFS, SHACL, and semantic data models representing healthcare concepts, measures, entities, and relationships.

Collaborate with enterprise architects and data governance teams to design and maintain healthcare ontologies and semantic models.

Support data virtualization, graph integrations, and semantic interoperability initiatives.

Data Platform Operations

Partner with Data Engineering and Platform Engineering teams supporting enterprise data platforms.

Integrate Stardog with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Databricks, cloud storage platforms, APIs, and data integration tools.

Develop automation scripts and operational procedures for deployments, monitoring, maintenance, and platform administration.

Support cloud-native deployments utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Container Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and related Azure platform services.

Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and operational metrics.

Support CI/CD processes and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

3+ years of hands-on experience administering Stardog or equivalent graph database technologies.

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise databases, data platforms, or data engineering environments.

Experience supporting mission-critical production systems.

Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex platform, performance, and integration issues.

Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

Stardog administration and platform operations

SPARQL development and optimization

RDF, OWL, RDFS, SHACL, and semantic web technologies

Knowledge graph architecture and administration

Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning

Identity and access management technologies

Cloud-based database and application platforms

Performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity management

Linux-based environments and command-line administration

Preferred Qualifications

Data Platform Experience

Databricks, Delta Lake, and modern lakehouse architectures

Data integration and virtualization platforms

Azure cloud data and analytics services

Kubernetes (AKS)

Healthcare Domain Experience

Healthcare analytics and benchmarking solutions

Population health and value-based care initiatives

Clinical, operational, quality, payer, or provider data domains

Healthcare interoperability standards and healthcare data workflows

Knowledge graph solutions supporting healthcare analytics and AI-driven decision support

Ability to diagnose complex semantic modeling, data integration, and performance issues
