Job Description

About the Company

Our client is a growing manufacturer of precast concrete products serving infrastructure, utility, and site development markets. The company produces below-ground precast systems and has built a reputation for quality, technical expertise, and responsive customer service.

The engineering team is intentionally lean and collaborative, creating an opportunity for a high-impact engineer to make a meaningful contribution while developing into a future engineering leader.

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a strong concrete background to join the engineering team and take on increasing technical and leadership responsibility.

This position offers a clear path to Director of Engineering within approximately three years. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering leadership and design personnel while gaining broader responsibility for structural design, production support, and engineering operations.

The company is open to two profiles: an experienced licensed PE ready to move toward leadership, or a strong mid-level engineer/EIT who wants hands-on mentorship and a defined path toward PE licensure and eventually the Director role.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support structural design and analysis for precast concrete products.
  • Design and analyze products including box culverts, septic systems, and underground utility structures.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and designers to support production.
  • Help resolve design and engineering issues throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Take on increasing technical and leadership responsibilities as you progress toward the Director of Engineering role.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering resources as needed.
  • Travel periodically for team collaboration and other business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong structural engineering experience with concrete.
  • Experience with precast concrete is highly preferred.
  • PE license preferred; EIT candidates will also be considered.
  • Candidates should have a genuine interest in developing into an engineering leadership role.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, design, and production teams.
  • Candidates pursuing the leadership track should be comfortable with regular in-person collaboration.

Benefits

  • $130,000–$160,000 base salary, depending on experience and licensure.
  • Hybrid work environment.
  • Remote flexibility may be available for highly experienced, licensed engineers.
  • Clear, defined career path toward Director of Engineering.
  • Hands-on mentorship and professional development.
  • Opportunity to work within a small, collaborative engineering team.
  • Meaningful technical ownership and increasing leadership responsibility.
