Job Description

Trueline is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join the team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced structural engineer to take ownership of technical design on large Type I buildings while gaining meaningful exposure to leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.

What You'll Do as the Senior Structural Project Engineer:

  • Lead structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, and composite building systems
  • Develop detailed structural calculations and construction documents
  • Partner closely with project managers to execute technically sound and efficient project delivery
  • Coordinate with architects, BIM designers, and outside consultants throughout design and documentation phases
  • Contribute to seismic design, evaluation, and retrofit efforts
  • Participate in client meetings and technical coordination sessions
  • Support QA/QC reviews to ensure design excellence and code compliance
  • Navigate California building codes and agency requirements with confidence

Must-Haves as the Senior Structural Project Engineer:

  • 5-8 years of experience in structural building design within a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing large steel and reinforced concrete structures
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and seismic engineering principles
  • Experience contributing to multidisciplinary design teams
  • Clear communication and strong organizational skills
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Structural Project Engineer:

  • SE license or active pursuit of SE licensure
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
  • Experience with DSA or HCAI-regulated projects
  • Seismic retrofit experience, including ASCE 41 familiarity
  • High-rise or other Type I construction experience
