Job Description

Collegium Pharmaceutical is building a leading, diversified biopharmaceutical company committed to improving the lives of people living with serious medical conditions. We have a leading portfolio of responsible pain management and neuropsychiatry medications.

Hybrid: Required to be onsite in Stoughton, MA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

POSITION OVERVIEW 

Collegium is adding a Senior Tax Accountant to the Tax Team. As one of the Company's first dedicated tax hires, this individual will assist the Tax Director in establishing the foundation of our internal tax processes, while working in close partnership with a strong Finance Team and a network of experienced advisors. The Senior Tax Accountant will also contribute to the implementation and maintenance of scalable tax processes and will play a key role in providing support to the business. This role is a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in tax at a growing company, while collaborating cross-functionally to establish the Tax Team's role across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with the coordination, preparation and review of the tax provision, including preparing supporting documentation, analysis of uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Maintain tax-related internal controls and documentation in support of SOX requirements.
  • Collaborate with external financial statement auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support the audit process.
  • Assist with the coordination, calculation and filing of federal, state and foreign tax returns, extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments.
  • Prepare responses to inquiries from tax authorities (e.g., notices and audits).
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of tax law, including the ability to perform tax research and to prepare technical memorandums, as required.
  • Develop good relationships with colleagues from other functions including Accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR, IT, R&D, Operations, Sales and Marketing.
  • Communicate clearly with explanations and clarifying questions.
  • Implement continuous improvements and solve routine problems.
  • Other tasks or special projects as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience required, Big 4 public accounting experience or experience working in a corporate tax function preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740 as it relates to multinational corporations.
  • Experience working at/with pharmaceutical/biotech companies preferred.
  • Experience effectively managing multiple priorities simultaneously and performing within deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of modern tax software and experience in leveraging technology to create more efficient tax processes.
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.

Pay Range

$101,000—$120,080 USD
