Senior Tax Accountant - Tax ManagerThe RoleWe are looking for a diligent and highly motivated individual to join the growing tax department. This position (title depends on the candidate's experience) will be primarily focusing on meeting the Company’s tax compliance and reporting needs, especially in the indirect tax area. The ideal candidate is a team player who has experience in tax return preparation, a solid understanding of common tax rules and regulations, knowledgeable in accounting principles and is willing to dive in and take the lead on all things indirect tax.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform sales and use tax monthly filing and exemption form preparation
- Maintain indirect tax matrix and prepare indirect tax memo as needed (sales and use tax, personal property tax and real property tax)
- Lead monthly vendor tax information review and annual 1099 reporting process
- Assist with other indirect tax compliance and research
- Assist with coordinating and ensuring the timely filing of the Company’s federal, state and local income tax returns, including reviewing the workpapers prepared by the external service providers
- Assist in the resolution of federal, state and local tax notices and audits
- Identify process improvements for various tax processes, implement changes for best practices
- Perform other duties as requested by the management
- BS in Accounting or Tax (or related major)
- CPA license preferred
- 3 plus years of tax experience including the above duties
- Must be detail oriented, resourceful and organized
- Ability to multi-task and work in tight frames and deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Superior interpersonal abilities and a team player. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
- Must be a self-starter who handles multiple projects with competing priorities with minimum supervision
