About the OpportunityWe are seeking a client-focused Senior Tax & Assurance Accountant to join our growing public accounting team. This role offers a blend of tax compliance, tax planning, financial statement preparation, and assurance services for a diverse client base that includes real estate entities, partnerships, closely held businesses, investors, and high-net-worth individuals.

The ideal candidate enjoys building client relationships, solving complex tax matters, and working in a collaborative environment where they can gain exposure to both tax and audit engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

Responsibilities

Tax ServicesPrepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, including partnerships, corporations, S corporations, and individual returns.Review Forms W-9, W-8, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and related tax filings.Advise clients on tax planning opportunities, entity structuring, income tax matters, and compliance requirements.Assist clients with 1031 exchanges, partner transfers, and other complex tax transactions.Research tax issues and prepare technical tax memorandums as needed.Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate planning opportunities to clients.

Assurance & Accounting ServicesParticipate in audits, reviews, and compilations for privately held businesses and real estate entities.Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation.Assist clients with accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance matters.Support ad hoc assurance and consulting engagements.Advisory & Client ServicePrepare investor reporting packages and assist with asset management reporting.Support property tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements.Serve as a primary point of contact for client questions and ongoing advisory needs.Mentor and train junior staff members while reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.CPA designation required or actively pursuing certification.3-5+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax, assurance, or a combination of both.Experience preparing and reviewing partnership, corporate, S-Corporation, and individual tax returns.Exposure to audits, reviews, compilations, and financial statement preparation.Knowledge of partnership taxation, real estate taxation, and tax planning strategies.Experience with 1031 exchanges, partner allocations, and investor reporting is a plus.Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.Excellent analytical, communication, and client-service skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred ExperiencePublic accounting experience serving closely held businesses, real estate partnerships, family-owned companies, and high-net-worth individuals.Experience with real estate, property management, asset management, construction, or investment-related clients.Familiarity with CCH, UltraTax, Thomson Reuters, QuickBooks, CaseWare, or similar public accounting software platforms.
