JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Senior Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting Analyst to join our growing team.

Job Description

THE ROLE

The Senior Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting Analys is a key member of the SEC and Financial Reporting team. This role assists in complex technical accounting projects, implements new accounting standards, and supports quarterly and annual SEC reporting. The role also supports the maintenance of the Company's global accounting policies and partners cross‑functionally (FP&A, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Operations), providing significant exposure to senior financial leadership.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with an on-site presence of 2-3 days per week combining flexibility with team collaboration.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform technical accounting research within the FASB Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) and prepare clear, well‑supported position papers and accounting memos on complex and unusual transactions (e.g., impairment analysis, restructuring [including acquisitions and divestitures], share-based payments, etc.) for review.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to determine appropriate accounting conclusions and implementation strategies on complex U.S. GAAP matters.
  • Project‑manage adoption and ongoing compliance with ASU 2024‑03 Disaggregation of Income Statement Expenses (DISE), including data readiness, process and control design, tabular disclosure preparation, and quarterly/annual footnote updates.
  • Monitor, interpret, and help implement new U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance.
  • Maintain, enhance, and govern the global accounting policy framework and policy library, ensuring policies are refreshed for new standards and changes to the organization.
  • Support ad hoc technical accounting and reporting projects, including divestitures, acquisitions, ESG, and other special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors preparing PBC requests, responding to inquiries, and as needed, supporting the resolution and remediation of audit findings.
  • Assist quarterly and annual SEC reporting (Forms 10‑Q and 10‑K) for a NYSE-listed public company, including preparation of footnotes, MD&A support, and preparation of quarterly technical accounting position papers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or public company technical accounting/SEC reporting
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; demonstrated ability to research and apply guidance and to translate conclusions into clear documentation.
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement mindset; team‑oriented with a high sense of ownership and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across functions and levels, including senior management.
  • Proven project management skills; able to organize, prioritize, and independently drive multiple concurrent deliverables to completion under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification strongly preferred (or equivalent).
  • Experience with a major ERP (e.g., SAP, OneStream, HFM) and reporting tools (e.g., Workiva or similar).
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
