Job Description
Position Summary...
Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers. What you'll do...
Senior Technology Operations professional with deep expertise in infrastructure technical program management, leading large‑scale data center build and expansion initiatives. Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end compute, storage, and network infrastructure builds, coordinating cross‑functional engineering, vendors, and operations teams to execute complex programs at scale. Strong background in hardware lifecycle management, including tech refresh, capacity planning, and end‑of‑life decommissioning, ensuring reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence across enterprise infrastructure environments. What you'll do:- Drive end‑to‑end infrastructure build programs from intake through execution, owning project planning, requirements gathering, and delivery governance.
- Lead procurement and vendor coordination to ensure timely delivery of compute, storage, and network gear, while managing dependencies, risks, and schedules
- Partner closely with compute, storage, network, and facilities teams to coordinate data center and colocation builds, readiness, and turn‑up activities.
- Drive infrastructure lifecycle management initiatives by tracking compute, storage, and network gear end‑of‑life (EOL) status and planning decommissions and tech refreshes to reduce technical debt and maintain a healthy, compliant infrastructure footprint across Walmart‑owned data centers and colocation facilities.
- You bring deep experience leading large‑scale infrastructure, data center, and platform programs, driving predictable delivery across compute, storage, network, and supporting platform services. You excel at program estimation, intake, and planning—defining scope, capacity, resources, schedules, and dependencies across multiple infrastructure workstreams.
- You demonstrate strong execution rigor and operational discipline, using structured monitoring, controls, and reporting to manage milestones, readiness gates, and delivery risks. You proactively identify constraints across supply chain, vendor execution, site readiness, and cross‑team dependencies, and take decisive action to maintain program health in dynamic environments.
- You lead complex cross‑functional coordination across engineering, operations, procurement, finance, facilities, vendors, and external partners. You facilitate execution forums to review schedule health, risks, and critical dependencies, and you drive timely resolution of issues impacting infrastructure build, expansion, or platform delivery.
- You bring solid financial and capacity management expertise, managing budgets, forecasts, and cost controls across multi‑project infrastructure programs. You track spend, delivery schedules, and variances, and you balance cost, capacity, and timeline trade‑offs to support business and growth objectives.
- You apply proven program management frameworks to define goals, deliverables, milestones, and accountability. You decompose large infrastructure programs into executable modules, establish ownership and governance, and align execution with long‑term platform and capacity strategies.
- You maintain strong technology and domain awareness across infrastructure and platform ecosystems, understanding how compute, storage, network, and platform choices impact scalability, reliability, and cost. You translate business and domain requirements into executable infrastructure programs, contribute to business cases, and assess ROI, cost savings, and lifecycle implications.
- You operate with integrity and accountability, embedding compliance, operational standards, and company values into program execution. You continuously improve processes and ways of working while delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure that supports critical business and customer outcomes.
- You bring in minimum 4–5 years of experience in infrastructure program management with moderate to expert‑level skills in end‑to‑end program planning and execution. You demonstrate strong awareness of compute, storage, network, and AI infrastructure technologies and you can lead technical discussions with engineering teams while clearly communicating program status to executives and technical leaders. Proficiency with Confluence, Jira, Excel, MS Office, and AI‑assisted tools for program management and data analysis is required.
