Position Overview:

The Senior Technology Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing complex Technology projects from start to finish. The role oversees the full project lifecycle-from inception through hyper-care-ensuring that digital transformations, Process readiness, software deployments align with the organization's 2026 strategic roadmap

This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Business System analysts, engineers, QA analysts, designers, and business stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met within scope, budget, and timeline. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Dutch Bros.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, computer science, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in Technology focused project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget

  • Deep understanding of SDLC, SaaS applications, Integrations, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Azure), Cybersecurity protocols, and Data Analytics.

  • Experience in managing software development projects for applications released through app stores such as Google Play or the Apple App store

  • Experience managing vendors for IT projects, including selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that vendors deliver their services on time and within budget

  • Experience in managing change, including creating change management processes and communicating changes to stakeholders, minimizing the impact of change to business operations

  • In-depth experience in project management methodologies, including agile, waterfall, and hybrid approaches

  • Experience using project management tools and software, such as Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence, etc

  • PMP certification or equivalent

Location Requirement:

This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Ensures that a portfolio of projects are executed efficiently and effectively, with a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholder:

  • Be outcome and benefit driven, identifying and realizing benefits and, prioritizing project delivery to meet business priorities.

  • Understand client requirements and have the ability to design comprehensive strategies for achieving successful project outcomes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify project requirements to build statements of work.

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders, and ensure that stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Manage project budgets, including forecasting and tracking project costs, and ensuring that projects are resourced appropriately to deliver on time and within budget.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards, including security and data privacy requirements.

  • Coordinate project testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities, ensuring successful project delivery and that lessons learned are applied to future projects.

Collaborate with IT staff and project stakeholders to effectively communicate project expectations and status in a timely and concise manner:

  • Develop and deliver presentations to key stakeholders as needed.

  • Participate in the strategic planning activities for the assigned area.

  • Hold and/or attend regular project status meetings, vendor presentations, and teleconferences associated with assigned projects.

  • Develop strong partnerships and work with peer levels of management to resolve resource conflicts.

  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring that contract terms and conditions are fair, clear, and enforceable and that vendors are held accountable for meeting their contractual obligations.

  • Act as the primary liaison between executive leadership and technical engineering teams, translating complex technical debt or architectural requirements into clear business impacts.

  • Mentor and train junior project managers and provide guidance and support to project team members

Champion continuous improvement in project management processes and practices, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards:

  • Work with business partners to optimize cross-departmental processes and improve system automation to scale workflows.

  • Identify and implement relevant tools, technologies and processes that can help streamline project management processes and improve project outcomes.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the project management team, encouraging team members to share ideas and feedback.

  • Assess and benchmark project management practices against industry standards and best practices to identify areas for improvement.

  • Leverage AI-powered project management tools for scheduling, planning and reporting purposes and any other relevant areas.

  • Communicate effectively and independently across the organization at the executive level and outside the organization.

  • Work through and escalate issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk.

Physical Requirements:

  • In-Office Environment:Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions

  • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings

  • Office Conditions:Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels

  • Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds

  • Hearing Requirements:Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.

  • Reading and Writing Proficiency:Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.

  • Vision Requirements:Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.

  • Technology Proficiency:Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software.

  • Effective Communication:Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
