Job Title: Senior Tester

Task Order: HBITS-07-14692

Agency: State of New York Office of Information Technology Services (ITS)

Location: Hybrid Albany, NY

Duration: 18 Months

Rate: Depends on experience

Position Overview

Develop and implement automated testing and quality assurance for the Plant and Universal LIMS applications for the Department of Agriculture and Markets. The position will focus on creating, implementing, and communicating testing process and results, CI/CD, and API validation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created/upgraded performs as necessary and meets the user requirements.
• Develop and maintain user and technical documentation and project process documentation for application teams.
• Understand the view of applications and/or technology and put procedures in a logical sequence.
• Coordinate testing initiatives for user acceptance testing for mobile and web applications.
• Define and craft functional scripts, business use cases, user stories, and test plans.
• Perform Mobile App Analysis and Mobile App Testing.
• Provide training for testing and assist with build demonstrations to team and customers.
• Document processes and procedures.
• Participate in design sessions.
• Provide end-user training.
• Provide support for testing mobile and cloud-based applications.
• Perform written knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Tester Conducts automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created/upgraded performs as necessary and meets the user requirements. Develops and maintains user and technical documentation and project process documentation for application teams. Understands the view of applications and/or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence.
• Senior 5 to 7 years: Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
• 5 years of experience coordinating testing initiatives for user acceptance testing for mobile and web applications and defining and crafting functional scripts, business use cases, user stories, and test plans.
• 3 years of experience with Automated Testing Frameworks (XCUITest, Appium, or Playwright).
• 3 years of experience with API testing and data validation.
• 3 years of experience with CI/CD.
• 2 years of experience with XCode or Typescript.
