YOUR ROLE:
The Senior Trademark Paralegal plays a strategic, clientâfacing role supporting complex U.S. and international trademark portfolios. This highâimpact position owns endâtoâend trademark workflows, including filings, prosecution, renewals, and enforcement, while partnering closely with attorneys and clients. The role contributes to operational excellence by driving process improvements, quality control, and the effective use of modern tools and best practices.
YOUR IMPACT:
- US & Foreign Trademark Filings: Manage process and workflow of US and foreign trademark filings, prosecution, renewals and conflicts (oppositions, cancellations, infringements, UDRPs and counterfeits).
- Trademark Prosecution: Managing trademark prosecution with the USPTO, including:
- preparing and filing new applications;
- drafting goods and services specifications;
- identifying and reviewing specimens of use; and
- preparing response submissions to the USPTO.
- UDRPs: Managing and assisting with UDRPs and internet enforcement.
- Docketing: Monitoring deadlines and maintain accurate records in docketing systems.
- Searches:
- Experience with preliminary / knockout trademark searches using databases such as USPTO, WIPO Global Brand Database, and commercial search tools is a plus.
- Supporting attorneys with full clearance searches, including coordinating with third-party search vendors when necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys and support staff to ensure cohesive and efficient workflow, supporting a high standard of client service.
YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABAâapproved program
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Trademark Paralegal in a law firm
- Deep knowledge of U.S. trademark rules and procedures
- Advanced proficiency with electronic legal research tools
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Clear, confident communicator who collaborates effectively with attorneys and peers
- Professional judgment, discretion, and a high standard of confidentiality
- Proactive problemâsolver who takes ownership and initiative in a fastâpaced environment
- Thrives in a fastâpaced, highâvolume environment, managing multiple matters, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines with ease
- Adapts readily to evolving responsibilities and strategic firm objectives
- Flexible and responsive, with the ability to adjust hours as needed to meet business and client demands
