Senior Ui/Ux Designer

Job Description: Senior UI/UX Designer We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer with extensive experience designing enterprise systems and creating intuitive, accessible, and responsive digital experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user research, prototyping, accessibility standards, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered solutions for complex systems. Key Responsibilities Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to identify opportunities for improving system usability and accessibility. Design wireframes, prototypes (low/high fidelity), and visual hierarchies that align with accessibility guidelines and branding standards. Conduct usability testing and apply insights to improve workflows, navigation, and overall user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teamsincluding business analysts, developers, and stakeholdersto ensure alignment with business goals and user needs. Create data visualizations and clear visual narratives to simplify complex information. Contribute to discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning within agile development cycles. Leverage tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar to deliver high-quality designs. Apply UX best practices for responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), SEO optimization, and mobile-first principles. Advocate for user-centered design principles, ensuring empathy and inclusivity drive decision-making. Design for complex rule-based, data-intensive systems in regulated industries (e.g., government, healthcare, finance). (Preferred) Demonstrate experience with AI/ML interfaces, particularly in explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction. Required Qualifications 11+ years hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems. Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and related design/prototyping tools. 11+ years of collaboration experience with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into design solutions. 10+ years applying UX principles (hierarchy, contrast, alignment, responsive design, accessibility). 10+ years of experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual assets to support agile development. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years designing graphical diagrams, workflows, and system architecture visuals. 3+ years facilitating design workshops, stakeholder sessions, and user feedback studies. 3+ years Bachelors degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong multitasking ability to manage concurrent design streams across projects. Familiarity with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based, data-intensive applications. Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment. Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumens client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.
