Senior Ux/Interaction Designer Mobile Video Platform Experiences

Duration: 8-9 Months Work Location: San Bruno, CA (Hybrid role)Job Description:

• We are seeking a Senior UX / Interaction Designer to design and evolve short-form video viewing experiences on mobile platforms. This role focuses on crafting intuitive, engaging, and scalable interaction patterns for video-first, feed-based consumption.
• The ideal candidate is a strong design thinker with experience designing Reels-, Shorts-, or Stories-style products, comfortable working in fast-moving environments and collaborating closely with product, engineering, and research partners..

Responsibilities: 

• Lead end-to-end design for short-form video viewer experiences across mobile platforms (iOS & Android).
• Design interaction models, gestures, motion behaviors, and visual systems optimized for rapid, immersive content consumption.
• Explore and prototype new interaction paradigms to improve engagement, discovery, and usability.
• Partner closely with UX Research to translate insights and experimentation results into design solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, high-quality experiences.
• Create wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Present design concepts and rationale clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
• Advocate for user-centered, accessibility-first design throughout the product lifecycle.
• Contribute to and evolve shared design systems and visual standards.

Experience (Required): 

• 6+ years of experience in UX, product, or interaction design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating mobile-first, consumer-facing products.
• Proven experience designing video, media, or playback-centric experiences.
• Strong interaction and visual design skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions.
• Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe, ProtoPie).

 Experience (Desired): 

• Experience designing short-form or video-first platforms (e.g., reels, stories, feeds, or swipe-based experiences).
• Strong understanding of gesture-based navigation, motion design, and micro-interactions.
• Experience working on high-traffic, consumer-scale products.
• Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, and data-informed design.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and influence cross-functional teams.

Education: 

• Bachelor's or degree in or a related field or equivalent work experience.
