Job Description

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water and Wastewater Infrastructure team in Washington. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can provide technical leadership across a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.As a key technical resource, you'll collaborate with project teams, mentor developing engineers, and help deliver practical, code-compliant solutions for clients and communities.What You'll DoAs a Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer, you'll provide senior technical leadership across project design, quality review, team coordination, mentorship, and client support.

Lead technical design and problem-solving: Serve as a senior technical resource on water and wastewater projects involving process systems, collection and distribution systems, conveyance infrastructure, pump and lift stations, and treatment facilities.Strengthen project quality: Provide QA/QC and technical review of designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications while developing practical, efficient, and code-compliant solutions.Coordinate across teams and stakeholders: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory partners to support constructable, cost-effective, and well-aligned project outcomes.Mentor and develop engineers: Guide junior and mid-level engineers through technical development, professional growth, and project execution.

Qualifications

Education: BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering field.Experience: 10+ years of relevant water/wastewater engineering experience.Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.Technical background: Broad experience across water and wastewater systems, including process systems, pump and lift stations, pipelines, treatment facilities, and regulatory requirements.Certifications or licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or ability to obtain within 6 months.Travel: Willing to travel to project sites, client meetings, and Kennedy Jenks offices.
