Job Description
ITCON Services is seeking a detail-oriented Web Content, Accessibility, and Code Quality Assurance Specialist to support the research, development, review, publication, testing, and maintenance of accessible web content and related application code. The selected candidate will help ensure web content and web application updates are accurate, high quality, secure, and compliant with Section 508 and applicable accessibility standards. This role requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, experience performing website and code quality assurance, familiarity with regression and security testing practices, and the ability to support content updates across web and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a diverse environment and be able to multitask many work streams at once. This associate will mentor junior staff and have been able to take 100% ownership of tasks assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, digital media/media studies, another relevant business discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required USDA Public Trust/Tier 2 background investigation for personnel performing software development, technical maintenance, or access to sensitive Government systems
- Experience writing for the web, including researching, drafting, editing, reviewing, and publishing clear, accurate, audience-focused content for public-facing or federal websites.
- Strong experience with Drupal CMS, including content management workflows, web publishing processes, content updates, and governance of public-facing web content.
- Experience with Microsoft platforms and Office 365 services, including collaboration, document management, publishing, and workflow support.
- Knowledge of web best practices, Section 508 accessibility requirements, accessibility testing, and applicable compliance regulations for federal digital content.
- Experience identifying and remediating web content quality issues such as broken links, spelling errors, formatting inconsistencies, outdated content, and non-compliant content.
- Familiarity with website quality assurance processes, regression testing, and basic security testing concepts.
- Experience supporting code quality assurance activities, including reviewing code changes, validating fixes, documenting defects, and coordinating with development teams to resolve quality, accessibility, and security issues.
- Experience updating and maintaining content in SharePoint or similar content management platforms.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to identify and explain web content issues, document remediation steps, and coordinate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple content updates, publishing deadlines, QA activities, and stakeholder requests simultaneously.
- Experience supporting federal government websites or regulated digital platforms.
- Hands-on experience using accessibility testing or quality assurance tools to evaluate web pages and documents.
- Familiarity with Federal Plain Language Guidelines, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), usability standards, plain language principles, and digital content governance practices.
- Experience preparing accessibility reports, remediation documentation, content inventories, or quality assurance checklists.
- Basic understanding of HTML, web publishing workflows, and content management system operations.
- Experience with basic web coding languages, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web markup used to troubleshoot formatting, layout, accessibility, and publishing issues.
- Experience participating on project teams and working across organizational teams to coordinate content updates, resolve issues, validate requirements, and support timely delivery.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of grant-making organizations, federal grants processes, or federal program operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with code repositories, issue tracking tools, static code analysis tools, automated testing concepts, and DevSecOps quality gates
