Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and service safety and level gauging equipment on industrial and commercial marine vessels. This role involves hands-on electrical and instrumentation work in field environments and requires travel, independent work, and strong customer interaction skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain safety and level gauging equipment on marine vessels
- Install electrical conduit, bend pipe, and run marine‑grade cabling
- Test, inspect, and diagnose electrical systems to ensure proper operation and circuit continuity
- Troubleshoot systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and loop calibrators
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Apply basic knowledge of PLCs, industrial automation, and process control systems
- Maintain company equipment and assets, including vehicles, tools, laptops, and inventory
- Complete accurate service documentation and expense reports in a timely manner
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers through effective communication
- Work independently and remotely in a fast‑paced field environment
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and maritime regulations
- Maintain a professional appearance when interacting with customers and colleagues
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree, relevant certifications, or 2–3 years of related field experience
- Experience with electrical or instrumentation systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- TWIC card and valid passport (or ability to obtain)
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to pass pre‑employment background checks and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Marine, maritime, or shipboard experience
- Familiarity with PLCs, industrial automation, or process control systems
- Basic PC networking knowledge
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
Physical & Working Conditions
- Majority of work performed outdoors and aboard marine vessels
- Exposure to industrial noise, weather, and confined spaces
- Physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and climbing cargo tanks
- Strict adherence to safety requirements in a marine industrial environment
