Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant supports finance and strategy leadership by gathering data, preparing reports, and assisting with research and analysis. This role contributes to organizational planning efforts by helping identify trends, supporting reporting needs, and assisting with presentations and strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: HS Graduate or GED
Maryland resident
Individuals eligible for the Maryland Service Year Program (generally ages 18-24)
Experience: None required
Licensure/Certification: None required
Skills & Abilities:
Basic knowledge of accounting, finance, or information systems concepts
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Good communication skills
Ability to analyze data and support reporting activities
What You'll Do
- Gather data and prepare reports as assigned by finance and strategy leaders
- Conduct industry and competitor research to identify trends and opportunities
- Assist analysts with reporting, data analysis, and project work
- Help create and format presentation materials
- Support strategic and financial initiatives through research and administrative tasks

Work Environment & Demands
- Office-based environment with regular computer use
- Primarily sedentary work with occasional movement (as shown on page 2 physical demands table)
- Requires sustained attention to detail and concentration for data-related tasks
- Frequent use of spreadsheets, reports, and presentation tools
- Minimal exposure to hazardous conditions; standard professional office setting
