Position Overview

We are seeking a ServiceNow UI/UX Developer to design responsive, intuitive, and visually engaging user experiences supporting a government customer.

The UI/UX Developer will collaborate with instructional designers, developers, content editors, and other technical professionals to create cohesive user interfaces for desktop and mobile applications. This role combines user-centered design, graphic design, information architecture, and front-end development principles while also providing mentoring and guidance to other UI Designers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop user interfaces for a variety of products, including responsive web pages, mobile applications, and games.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile development environment to deliver intuitive, aesthetically engaging, and user-friendly interactive experiences.
  • Apply user-centered design and information architecture principles throughout the design and development process.
  • Create interface and application sketches, style guides, wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and finished design products.
  • Research industry, technology, and creative trends and recommend appropriate advancements for new and existing user interfaces.
  • Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements, user stories, and design expectations.
  • Oversee and support UI Designers working with other professionals to produce online learning materials.
  • Recommend personnel for projects based on individual skills and capabilities.
  • Review and monitor UI Designer work products and escalate concerns when appropriate.
  • Mentor and coach UI Designers while providing design guidance to support tight project timelines and improve overall product experiences.
  • Serve as a liaison between the section and other technical staff as needed.
  • Represent the team in planning meetings with government stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a UI or UI/UX Designer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, User Interface Design, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to design visual interfaces based on user stories, use cases, concepts of operation, or defined requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end product design incorporating both UI and UX requirements.
  • Proficiency with digital UI/UX design tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe CC).
  • Demonstrated experience designing responsive websites.
  • Demonstrated experience designing mobile applications.
  • Strong history of collaborating effectively with cross-functional development teams.
  • Understanding of web development technologies and Section 508 accessibility guidelines.
  • Experience serving as a functional lead, including mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience coding with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing mobile applications for both iOS and Android.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience designing game and simulation interfaces.
  • Experience with eLearning courseware and learning management systems.
