Reports to: Shareholder Affairs Manager
Status: Temporary
Classification: Non-Exempt
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Department Shareholder Affairs
Rate of pay $25.00 per hour
Start Mid May 12 weeks duration (approximate)
Summary of Position
The Shareholders Affairs Intern supports the Shareholder Affairs Department in delivering programs, communications and services to strengthen relationships between the Corporation and its Shareholders and Descendants. The internship provides hands-on experience in Alaska Native Corporation governance, ANCSA compliance, Shareholder benefits administration, and community engagement.
The Intern will assist with Shareholder records management, program administration communications development, and event coordination. This position offers meaningful exposure to corporate governance, regulatory frameworks under ANCSA, and culturally grounded Shareholder engagement practices.
Functions
- Support in maintaining and updating Shareholder records
- Assist in preparing and organizing Shareholder Engagement activities
- Support the coordination of the Annual Meeting
- Assist in drafting content and/or design for the newsletter, website, social media, email blasts and other documents for Shareholders
- Gain knowledge in how ANCSA law governs ANC's as it relates to Shareholders
- Gain experience in relationship management and external communications
Must have or have the ability to obtain and retain a valid Alaska Driver's License before starting work as well as possess and maintain a good driving record free of any DUI or other major driving infractions.
