Purpose and Mission

• Responsible for supporting the Plant SHE Manager in implementing and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs. This role involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• SHE Program Support:

• Assist in implementation of SHE policies and procedures.

• Support the SHE Plant Manager in ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations.

• Participate in regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing mitigation strategies.

• Investigate incidents and near-misses, and support the implementation of corrective actions.

• Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and training.

• Training and Awareness:

• Assist in delivering SHE training programs for employees and contractors.

• Ensure all personnel are aware of SHE policies and procedures.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement in SHE practices.

• Emergency Response:

• Support the development and maintenance of emergency response plans.

• Participate in emergency drills and training exercises.

• Assist in coordinating responses to emergency situations.

• Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and submit SHE reports to the SHE Site Manager and regulatory agencies as required.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHE records.

• Track and report on SHE performance metrics.

Skills

• Competence in safety techniques, including risk assessment.
• Proficience in safety protocols and risk management
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word & Powerpoint
• ISO 14001 and 45001 knowledge

Previous Experience

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a SHE department, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or a similar role

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering). Authorized certification required.
• ISO14001 Internal Auditor Certificate
