Shift Lead – Car Wash

Job Level: Entry-Level Leadership

Location: Plainfield, IL

Status: Full-Time & Part-Time

Compensation: $15 - $16 plus commission/bonuses, OTE $22+ per hour

Benefits: We offer flexible scheduling with both part-time and full-time positions available, ranging from 24 to 40 hours per week. Team members enjoy free car washes and the opportunity to earn commission on monthly wash membership sales.

About the Role:

At WashU, a shift lead plays a key role in overseeing daily operations and supporting team performance during their assigned shift. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high-quality service standards, and delivering exceptional customer experience. Shift leads help guide team members, uphold company processes, and contribute to a positive, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and quality standards
• Supervise, assign tasks, and provide coaching to team members
• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and resolving issues
• Promote and upsell memberships and premium services
• Monitor equipment and wash processes; report or address issues as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
• · Perform basic operational tracking (sales, cars serviced, incidents) and support inventory needs

Key Requirements:

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high service standards
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to resolve issues professionally and efficiently
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage operations and transactions accurately
• Reliable and punctual with flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Physically able to operate car wash equipment and perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks

No prior car wash experience is required—we provide on-site training to help you succeed.
