Job Description
Job Title: Shipping & Receiving AssociateLocation: Columbus, NEPay: $18.50/hourShift: 1st Shift | Full-TimePosition Overview:We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to support daily warehouse and production operations. This role is responsible for shipping and receiving materials, preparing domestic and international shipments, operating warehouse equipment, and supporting production by delivering materials to the floor. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to learn additional skills, including saw operation and light assembly.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process domestic and international shipments
- Label, pack, and crate materials accurately
- Verify shipping documents and packing lists
- Load and unload trucks
- Receive incoming materials and inspect for damage or shortages
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computer systems
- Pull materials using picklists for inspection, assembly, and production
- Operate saws to cut raw materials to proper length (training provided)
- Deliver materials to production areas and remove scrap containers
- Perform light assembly and minor equipment maintenance
- Operate forklifts and maintain equipment per OSHA standards
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic hand tools
- Ability to read measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers)
- SAP experience a plus
- Strong communication skills and positive, team-oriented attitude
- U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip materials
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
