Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for operating a motor vehicle to deliver and pick up various materials as well as assist the Assembly Department by completing various functions.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
Ensure prompt and accurate delivery/pick up of products, material, equipment, machinery, etc., and meet company and customer expectations and requirements, and must be able to drive a pickup truck with 20' trailer attached.
Pack orders promptly and correctly by following established standards and add necessary documentation and markings on boxes, which may include special shipping instructions and/or labels.
Process the packages of the order using a scale to weigh the packages.
Verify the created labels for proper ship-to address, attach them to the proper boxes in the correct position and orientation, and place the packages for transfer to the shipping/staging area.
Support the overall Shipping and Receiving department as directed, which may include sweeping or straightening work area, pre-making boxes, cleaning carts, breaking down cardboard boxes, monitoring packaging supplies, delivering packages throughout the facility, and keeping general work area clean and organized.
Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator must at a minimum possess the following:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
One year of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Possess a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or at-fault accidents in the last three years.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressured, and fast-paced environment.
Ability to comprehend production requirements.
Be able to speak, read, and write the English language fluently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator must be able to:
Lift a minimum of 50lbs, repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
Stand for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
