What You'll Do:
As a Shipping Coordinator, you'll help ensure Pelican products reach customers accurately and on time. You'll coordinate domestic and international shipments, work directly with carriers and internal teams, prepare shipping documentation, and use systems such as SAP to keep shipment information accurate from order through delivery. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys logistics, problem-solving, working with multiple teams, and taking ownership of getting products where they need to go.
Coordinate domestic and international shipments from order preparation through carrier pickup and delivery.Create Bills of Lading, shipping labels, export documentation, and other required shipping documents.Schedule LTL, truckload, and parcel carrier pickups while tracking and expediting shipments when needed.Obtain freight rates and negotiate spot quotes with carriers and logistics providers.Record and maintain accurate shipment transactions in SAP or other ERP/shipping systems.Review Pick and Pack Lists, customer routing instructions, quantities, weights, and dimensions to ensure shipping accuracy.Communicate daily with carriers, brokers, Customer Service, Sales, Production, Receiving, and customers to resolve shipping issues and provide delivery updates.Pick, pack, wrap, and band products to ensure orders are properly protected and prepared for transportation.Perform inventory and cycle counts within Shipping and Receiving and maintain accurate electronic and physical records.Audit carrier invoices, maintain outbound LTL records, and provide proof of shipment or delivery when requested.Operate a stand-up forklift to move products and support Shipping and Receiving operations.Support Pelican's commitment to Quality, Safety, and Continuous Improvement.Perform additional duties as assigned.Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm Eastern Time
What We're Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED.2+ years of shipping experience within a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.Knowledge of shipping documentation, picking and packing procedures, inventory processes, and cycle counting.Experience scheduling shipments and working with LTL, truckload, and parcel carriers.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate shipping and inventory records.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills.Strong math and data-entry skills.Ability to operate a stand-up forklift and successfully complete required certification.
Preferred Qualification:
Working knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system.Domestic and international shipping experience.Understanding of international customs and export documentation.Experience working directly with freight carriers, brokers, and logistics providers.Experience in an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment.Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
