Overview
Job Description
As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk you are responsible for handling inbound and outbound trucks. Collaborates and communicates with yard, sales and drivers involved in the shipment of product. Tracks and updates the status of outbound shipments.
Responsibilities
- Support the shipment of goods produced
- Provide instructions to drivers or approved visitors enter the yard
- Maintain shipping spreadsheet for all coated products that comes in and leaves the facility
- Confirm accuracy of shipments by verifying releases from customers or sales team
- Verify all goods against invoices or other documents
- Create all BOLs and supporting documents for all coated products shipping from facility
- Responsible to sort, scan and file all BOLs and supporting paperwork; and send complete shipping documents to appropriate recipients
- Know proper shipping procedures as far as weight and height regulations to ensure safe transport
- Communicate with sales staff any delays in shipping
- Address and answer any inquiries related to outbound goods in person or over email
- Shipping movements through SAP and Master Schedule
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience in a similar role
- Ability to follow procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- SAP or other ERP system knowledge
- Clear communication skills, both verbally and written
