Shipping Supervisor - 2nd/3rd Shift

• The supervisor oversees, guides and coordinates the Shipping Program, and supports the plant safety goals (SQF, GMP’s, etc.)
• The individual is responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the shipping department on 2nd/3rd shift.  They will communicate direction to hourly employees, oversee the progress of order fulfillment for both fresh and frozen product and review order status for deficiencies throughout the evening.  This individual will also serve as a key point of contact in for communicating issues between plants and other depot’s.
• The individual will serve as the key point of contact for the transportation drivers on the off shifts and be responsible for addressing issues as they arise.  They will also be responsible for communicating issues with the Transportation manager in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shipping personnel.
• Responsible for maintaining dock operations, including cleanliness, to allow for continuous shipping operation.
• Maintain a good working relationship with all other departments.
• Train and cross-train shipping operators to be able to scan, load, unload trailers to minimize disruption due to unforeseen circumstances.
• Required to come in during off shifts if needed for breakdowns and must be available to be contacted during off hours.
• Complete daily paperwork including schedules, logs and all other pertinent documented information.
• Ensure all employees, visitors, contractors and all other employees on the assigned shifts are following all Company and OSHA rules relating to safety, GMP’s, security and PPE policies and guidelines to keep the plant in compliance.
• Ensure all Transport drivers are following DOT regulations.
• Responsible for keeping the dock and all associated shipping areas clean and in good condition.
• Administer disciplinary action in accordance with Company policy when needed.
• Notify the Plant, Transportation, Shipping and Production Manager in a timely manner of all pertinent issues.
• Notify the Quality Assurance Manager of any potential food safety risk.
• Communicated and administer all Company policies and procedures consistently.
• Work extra hours or extra day if necessary.
• Commit to a continuous improvement work team environment. 
• Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Working Relationship

• Necessary to work as a team supporting and communicating properly with the other members of the production line and maintenance.
• Position interfaces with all department management, leads and machine operators to determine extent of maintenance assistance.
• Assists outside carriers as needed.
• Works closely with leaders and management. 

Physical Demands

• Pushing, pulling, bending
• Able to work on feet for the entire shift.
• Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pulling, climbing of machinery and/or tooling. 
• Work in high ambient temperatures
