Join a local metal fabrication shop known for world-class craftsmanship as a Shop Helper in Eugene, Oregon. This role is ideal for someone with basic metal shop experience who enjoys pitching in where needed and supporting fabrication projects.As a Shop Helper, you'll play a vital role in assisting with general shop tasks, material handling, and light fabrication support. You'll work closely with experienced team members to deliver results that keep projects moving forward and ensure a safe, efficient workspace. Work may be full-time, part-time, or project-based depending on workload, with potential for longer-term placement as business demand increases.What You'll Do As a Shop Helper, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with general shop support tasks as needed *
- Deburring metal parts to ensure quality finishes *
- Drilling and tapping components for assembly *
- Helping move materials and organize work areas to maintain efficiency *
- Supporting fabrication projects, including special assignments *
- Installing lightweight stainless steel mesh onto handrails using zip ties *
- Working with stainless round tubing components for various projects *
- Performing shop cleanup and maintaining a safe, organized workspace
- Some experience working in a metal shop or fabrication environment *
- Comfort using basic hand tools and shop equipment *
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs *
- A willingness to perform a variety of tasks and adapt to changing needs *
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude
