Job Description:

The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting employees and visitors between designated parking areas and AAON facilities during peak operational hours on Sat and Sun 5 am- 9 am & 3 pm- 7 pm. This role ensures timely, courteous, and efficient transportation while maintaining a clean and well-functioning vehicle. The driver plays a key role in supporting daily operations and enhancing the employee experience. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.

The Shuttle Bus Driver operates a company vehicle in accordance with traffic laws and company policies. The role includes routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance, and providing assistance to passengers as needed. Drivers are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and ensure a safe and comfortable ride for all passengers.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operates a shuttle bus to transport passengers between parking lots and AAON facilities.

  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures.

  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.

  • Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the shuttle, including regular interior and exterior cleaning and sanitization.

  • Provide courteous and helpful assistance to passengers, including those with mobility needs.

  • Communicate delays, incidents, or route changes to supervisors as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support transportation and facility operations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or GED; 2+ years of experience in driving or customer-related roles; valid license with a clean driving record.

Preferred: Previous experience in shuttle or commercial driving roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of vehicle safety procedures and basic maintenance practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in varying traffic and weather conditions.

  • Punctuality and reliability to maintain scheduled routes.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete required documentation.

This role requires alertness, attention to detail, and the ability to operate a vehicle safely for extended periods. The driver must be able to assist passengers and respond quickly to changing traffic or weather conditions.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods while operating a vehicle.

  • Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally (e.g., assisting with passenger items).

  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the shuttle as needed.

  • Maintain focus and awareness during all driving shifts.

Work Environment:

The Shuttle Bus Driver works primarily outdoors and in a vehicle, with exposure to varying weather conditions and traffic environments. The role is designated as safety-sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing, in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
