Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do - but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here - we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

If you're passionate about autonomous mining, this is where technology, leadership, and real‑world impact come together. As the MineStar Site Manager, you sit at the center of one of the most advanced Command for Hauling operations-shaping how autonomy performs, scales, and delivers value every single day.

This role puts you on the front line of autonomy. You're not just supporting technology-you're influencing mine performance, safety outcomes, and the future of autonomous haulage. You'll work side‑by‑side with mine leaders, engineers, and Caterpillar experts to turn cutting‑edge technology into measurable results.

If you enjoy leading through influence, solving complex operational challenges, and being the trusted voice of autonomy at a customer site, this role was built for you.

What you'll do

As the trusted advisor to the customer, you'll represent Caterpillar on site and lead the success of the Autonomous Haulage Solution (AHS). You'll coordinate across a complex matrix-aligning Caterpillar product groups, dealers, and customer stakeholders to keep autonomy running safely, reliably, and at peak performance.

You will:

  • Lead and support on‑site autonomy roles including Autonomous Application Specialists, Project Engineers, and Autonomous On‑Board Specialists, while partnering closely with the customer's Command team.

  • Drive performance across key site metrics such as technology availability, fleet utilization, production, uptime, cost per ton, and safety.

  • Influence Caterpillar product groups and internal partners to accelerate corrective actions and minimize operational impact from product or production issues.

  • Partner with the Mining Region Director, Site Performance Manager, Commercial Manager, and Sales teams to identify and support commercial growth opportunities.

  • Act as a consultant to customer and dealer operations and maintenance leaders-advising on best practices for Command for Hauling and autonomous operations.

  • Build and maintain strong executive‑level relationships with mine leadership, business decision‑makers, and subject‑matter experts.

  • Serve as the Responsible Person for all on‑site Caterpillar personnel and ensure the safe operation of the entire AHS system.

  • Champion Caterpillar's Zero Harm commitment, embedding safety into every aspect of site operations.

What skills you will have:

Technical Excellence: Extensive experience in autonomous mine operations, mining technology, and Command for Hauling environments.

Field Support: Background in field support, mine operations, Autonomous Run Teams, or site‑based technology roles.

Relationship Management: Proven ability to lead through influence-aligning multiple teams without direct authority.

Customer focus: A consultative mindset with a strong commitment to customer success and operational excellence.

Effective Communication: The ability to navigate sensitive issues, influence stakeholders, and drive action across organizations.

Problem‑solving: Comfort managing complex technical and operational challenges that require analysis, prioritization, and follow‑through.

Top Candidates will also have:
