Schedule
Hours: 60-72 hours/weekSchedule: Monday-SaturdayShift: Day Shift | 10-12 hour days
Project Scope
This position provides safety oversight for a large‑scale environmental remediation project focused on addressing PFAS contamination. The Site Safety Manager will oversee hazardous operations involving containment, removal, and treatment of impacted soil and groundwater.
The role requires a strong understanding of hazardous material controls, environmental regulations, and field safety execution. The Safety Manager will maintain an active site presence to ensure all remediation activities are performed safely, compliantly, and in accordance with regulatory and client requirements.
Qualifications
OSHA 500 with 5+ years as a titled Safety ManagerOR CSP or CHST with 5+ years as a titled Safety Manager Experience supporting environmental or hazardous material projects Strong knowledge of OSHA and regulatory compliance
Additional Requirements
• Experience managing high‑risk environmental work• Knowledge of hazardous materials and contamination controls• Ability to conduct site inspections, audits, and safety meetings• Strong documentation and reporting skills• Hands‑on field presence and proactive approach to hazard control• Ability to communicate effectively with crews and site leadership
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as on‑site safety authority for environmental remediation activities• Oversee safety controls related to PFAS‑impacted soil and groundwater• Conduct daily safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and site‑specific requirements• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions• Stop unsafe work and enforce safety standards• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting
Skills
• Strong environmental and remediation safety knowledge• Ability to manage high‑hazard work environments• Excellent field leadership and hazard recognition skills• Clear communication and sound safety judgment
Knowledge Base
Expertise in OSHA compliance, environmental remediation safety, hazardous material controls, PFAS exposure awareness, soil and groundwater remediation activities, incident investigation, and field safety oversight.
