Job Description

Elite Craftsmen Wanted - Slate & Tile Only.

Renaissance Historic Exteriors is seeking experienced Slate & Tile Roofing Specialists to join our award-winning historic restoration team. This role is not for general shingle roofers-we are looking for craftsmen with proven experience working on historic slate and tile systems.

Our team restores and preserves landmark buildings including historic homes, churches, universities, and municipal structures throughout the Midwest.

Primary Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and restore natural slate and clay/concrete tile roofing systems.
Perform selective tear-offs, slate matching, and detailed repairs.
Execute traditional fastening, layout, flashing, and waterproofing methods.
Work with copper and specialty metal flashings (preferred).
Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and jobsite protocols.
Travel to project sites across the Midwest (travel required).

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated hands-on experience with slate and/or tile roofing.
Knowledge of historic roofing methods and materials.
Ability to work at heights on steep-slope systems.
Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel for regional projects.
