Social Content Designer + Editor (Contractor)

About the Role Client is seeking a talented Social Content Designer + Editor to join our social media team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll help bring our brand to life across social platforms through elevated, engaging, and trend-driven content. We're looking for a creative storyteller who is deeply immersed in internet culture and passionate about transforming ideas into compelling social experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop social-first creative assets and templates for Instagram, including Stories, Reels, in-feed content, and other platform formats.
• Capture, produce, and edit photo and video content optimized for social media performance.
• Deliver polished, narrative-driven video edits that align with Beauty brand voice, aesthetic, and social strategy.
• Partner with social and creative teams to brainstorm, storyboard, and execute innovative content concepts.
• Stay ahead of emerging social trends, platform updates, and creative techniques to keep content fresh, relevant, and engaging.
• Incorporate motion graphics, animation, and visual effects where appropriate to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience creating and editing content for social media platforms.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and preferably After Effects.
• Strong experience shooting and editing short-form social content.
• Excellent understanding of visual storytelling, composition, typography, color theory, and social platform best practices.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with animation and motion graphics.
• Agency experience or experience supporting multiple brands/accounts.
• Strong understanding of social media trends, creator culture, and platform-native content.
