Social Media & SEO Manager

Position Summary

The Social Media & SEO Manager will lead Salma Health’s content strategy, organic growth, and digital brand presence across platforms. This role owns the development and execution of a scalable content and SEO engine that drives patient, provider, and partner engagement through compelling storytelling and measurable impact.

By translating complex brain health science into accessible, high-quality content, this role will help establish Salma Health as a trusted leader in brain healthcare while accelerating organic growth and amplifying our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Execution

• Develop and own an integrated content strategy across web, blog, social media, newsletters, and patient/provider resources.

• Lead content calendar planning aligned with marketing campaigns, product launches, and key company milestones.

• Partner with the Scientific Advisory Board, Patient Advocacy Board, clinicians, and leadership to translate complex science into engaging, accessible content.

• Establish and maintain voice, tone, and style guidelines to ensure consistent brand storytelling across all channels.

SEO & Organic Growth

• Build and execute a long-term SEO strategy to drive high-intent patient and provider traffic.

• Conduct keyword research, content gap analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify growth opportunities.

• Optimize site structure, content, and technical SEO in collaboration with design and engineering teams.

• Define, track, and report on KPIs including rankings, traffic, conversion, and CAC payback; iterate strategy based on performance.

Thought Leadership & Brand Building

• Create thought leadership content with executives, clinicians, and advisors for media, events, and bylined publications.

• Develop educational resources (guides, FAQs, explainer articles) that position Salma Health as a trusted brain healthcare partner.

• Partner with PR and communications teams to amplify earned media and integrate content into broader brand campaigns.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Align content and organic growth initiatives with the overall marketing strategy in partnership with the Head of Marketing.

• Build scalable processes for content production, editorial review, approvals, and publishing.

• Collaborate closely with paid media, PR, and design partners to ensure cross-channel consistency and amplification.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in content strategy, SEO, or organic growth, ideally within healthcare, healthtech, or mission-driven industries.

• Proven track record of building content programs that drive measurable organic traffic and customer acquisition.

• Strong understanding of SEO best practices (technical, on-page, and off-page) and content performance analytics.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to make complex medical or scientific concepts accessible.

• Experience collaborating with clinicians, scientists, or technical experts.

• Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.

• Strong project management skills and experience managing agencies or contractors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting marketing efforts in regulated industries.

• Familiarity with SEO tooling, analytics platforms, and content management systems.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position includes:

• Base Salary: $140,000–$160,000, dependent on experience, qualifications, and location.

• Incentives: Discretionary bonus and/or stock option grants based on company and individual performance.

• Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, PTO, and additional benefits.
