The Opportunity

Are you a digital native who lives and breathes short-form video? Do you have a passion for storytelling and a "get it done" attitude? ApplyBoard is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to join our team.

This isn't a desk job. We need a hungry, high-energy creator who is ready to be the face of ApplyBoard. You will take ownership of the social media content creation process for ApplyBoard -traveling, filming, editing, and capturing the heartbeat of international education. If you are early in your career and looking for a platform to prove your talent and impact the lives of students globally, this is your stage.

What you'll be doing every day:

• Be the Face: Act as the primary on-camera personality for our TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

• Produce at Speed: Script, film, and edit high-quality, trendy, and engaging video content daily.

• Hit the Road: Be ready to go anywhere. Whether it's a partner campus or a student event, you are there to capture the story.

• Own the Lifecycle: From a rough spark of an idea to the final export, you handle the entire production process.

• Stay Ahead: Monitor trends, sounds, and platform updates to ensure ApplyBoard is always ahead of the curve, not chasing it.

• Engage: Build a community by interacting with our followers and turning viewers into fans of the brand. This includes answering comments and DMs and engaging prospective students.

What you bring to the table:

• A Killer Portfolio: You must provide a link to your portfolio or social handles showcasing your video editing and on-camera work.

• Content Obsession: 1-3 years of experience creating content (professional or high-level personal) that drives engagement.

• Technical Agility: Proficiency in mobile editing apps (CapCut, InShot) or Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere/After Effects).

• Fearlessness: You are comfortable approaching people, interviewing strangers, and being on-site in fast-paced environments.

• The "Hustle" Factor: You don't wait for instructions; you see an opportunity for a great video and you take it.

• Mission-Driven: A genuine excitement for education and helping students achieve their dreams.

The details:

• Location: Kitchener-Waterloo (Hybrid). You must be based in the KW region and ready to hustle from our office at least 3 days a week, with frequent travel to college campuses for on-site filming.

• The starting salary range for this role begins at 52,000.00 - 74,000.00 CAD.

The compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to their relevant skills, knowledge, experience, education, and internal equity.
