Role Overview: Social Media Specialist

Richmond, VA | In office, Monday-Friday

We are currently seekingaSocial MediaSpecialistto join our Homes.com Marketing team based in Richmond, VA.This role is primarily B2B-focused andis responsible fordriving demand, engagement, and brand authority among real estate professional audiences,whileplaying a supporting role inbroader consumer initiatives. 

ThisSocial MediaSpecialistblends content strategy, paid media execution, and performance optimization to position the brand as a trusted industry leader and generate high-quality leads. The ideal candidate understands how to translate product value into compelling, platform-native content that resonates with professionals, whilemaintainingalignment with larger brand campaigns.

KeyResponsibilities

B2B Social Strategy and Audience Development

  • Owns the social strategy for B2B audiences – agents, brokers, and industry professionals

  • Define audience segments, needs, and messaging frameworks

  • Design and execute full-funnel social programs 

Organic Social

  • Develop and manage a social media content calendar aligned to product launches, campaigns, and sales priorities

  • Lead the development and oversight of content creation

  • Ensure content is platform-native and tailored to professional audiences

  • Manage community engagement, including responding to comments and fostering conversation

  • Leverage social listening toidentifyindustry trends and opportunities

Lead Generation and Mid-Funnel Focus

  • Plan and execute paid social campaigns focused on lead generation, consideration/retargeting, content amplification

  • Develop audience strategies and segmentation

  • Continuously test andoptimizetoward efficiency and lead quality

Creative and Messaging Development

  • Partner with creative teams to develop B2B-focused assets

  • Translate product features into clear, compelling value propositions

  • Guide creative development with platform-specific best practices

  • Build a testing roadmap across messaging, formats, and CTAs

Performance Analytics and Optimization

  • Track and report on socialcampaignperformance

  • Partner with analytics teams to evaluate lead quality and pipeline impact

  • Translate insights into actionable optimizations across creative, targeting, andspend

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partner closely with:

  • Sales teams toalign onlead quality and feedback loops

  • Product marketing to translate features into benefits

  • Brand/consumer marketing to ensure consistency with broader campaigns

Platform and Industry Expertise

  • Stay current on ad products, platformupdatesand capabilities

  • Monitor industry trends to inform content and messaging

  • Identifyopportunities for innovation

How This Role Supports B2C

  • Extends consumer campaigns into mid- and lower-funnel social environments

  • Builds retargeting and sequential messaging across audiences

  • Helps translate product-led storytelling into both agent and consumer value

  • Supports full-funnel continuity across YouTube, social, and awareness campaigns

BasicQualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university.

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

  • 3-4 years in social media marketing, with B2B experience preferred.

  • Experience running paid social campaigns focused on lead generation.

  • Ability to balance creative storytelling with performance marketing.

  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, and familiarity with Reddit and TikTok campaign management.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to connect media performance to business outcomes.

  • Strong collaboration skills across marketing, sales, and product teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical,writtenand verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and act proactively.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to build a strong, engaged communityacross social media platforms.

  • Ability to develop and implement effectiveemployeeadvocacy programs.

  • Experience with TikTokand/or Sprout Social.

  • Experience with Asana and/orCanvaa plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, andExcela plus.
