Background

Common Ground USA's Texas-based program is seeking to launch and grow a Texas-focused social media presence to build its strategic messaging reach within the state. This consultancy is intended to aid the team in building a strategic outreach plan and support operations throughout the planning, launch and early implementation, spanning fall 2026 - summer 2027.

Consultant Scope

Develop social media strategy to establish a presence, reach key audiences, build engagement and grow brand visibility of CG-USA Texas programming. In collaboration with Texas team members, develop a 6 and 12 month implementation plan, including messaging arc, storyline and content scheduling, a possible ad campaign, and monitoring for key platforms that may include Youtube, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.

Over the course of launch and implementation, support the Texas team in creating/finalizing content, fostering a community, tracking and analyzing social media performance, optimizing strategy based on insights.

Qualifications

Professional background in Strategic Communications, Marketing
Demonstrated experience building social media strategies
Deep familiarity with Texas media markets and audiences
Experience in building successful strategic communications campaigns or brand launch
Experience in communications in advocacy, democracy, civic mobilization or other related fields is strongly desired.
Ability to develop content to broad base of Texas audiences, including Spanish-speaking communities
Knowledge of current social media trends, emerging formats, etc.

Deliverables

Situational analysis of current social media presence and competitor landscape
Social media strategy, including platform recommendations, target audiences, and objectives
Messaging arc and key storylines
6-month implementation plan with content calendar
12-month implementation plan with content calendar
Ad campaign recommendation
Monitoring and evaluation framework
Finalized/reviewed content on an ongoing basis
Community management guidance or support
Monthly performance reports with recommendations for optimization
Final report with recommendations for continued execution

Schedule for performance

The assignment is structured in two phases: (1) Strategy and Implementation Plan Development - estimated at 18-20 working days over 1-2 months; and (2) Implementation Support - up to 10 working days per month over 7 months, focused on advisory support, content/performance review, and troubleshooting as the project team executes the strategy.
