Job Title: Licensed Mental Health Social Worker (LMSW / LCSW)Location: New York State (CNYPC Regional Placement)Type: Full-Time Contract / New York State AgencyPosition SummaryPenda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a New York State Agency—the Office of Mental Health (OMH)—and is seeking a qualified Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join their therapeutic team. The Office of Mental Health provides comprehensive, essential mental health services to forensic patients. The selected contract staff member will step into a primary therapist role to provide direct therapeutic services within a secure, multi-disciplinary institutional setting.This is a structured, highly accountable clinical role requiring strong documentation skills, high reliability, and the ability to work effectively with forensic and incarcerated populations while strictly adhering to state regulatory policy and procedures.Schedule & Contract Terms
  • Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Days: Monday through Friday schedule (No weekends required).
  • Shift Details: Exact shift and daily hours will be discussed in detail during the interview.
  • Contract Longevity: Positions offer strong stability and may be renewed for up to two (2) years.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Therapeutic Services: Act as a primary therapist, conducting individual therapy sessions and providing direct, evidence-based therapeutic services to forensic patients.
  • Clinical Assessments: Complete comprehensive mental health intakes and assessments according to institutional guidelines, including Core History and specialized suicide/risk assessments.
  • Medical Documentation: Maintain timely, highly accurate medical records, including writing Weekly/Monthly Progress Notes, forming individual Treatment Plans, and generating detailed Discharge Plans.
  • Compliance: Ensure all clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and paperwork are fully compliant with the client facility's strict Policy and Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must hold active, valid licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New York.
  • Institutional Clearances: Candidates must successfully complete the Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) Orientation prior to active placement.
  • Health Screening: Candidates will be strictly required to submit proof of clear Tuberculosis (TB) Testing.
  • Environment Fit: Must be comfortable with and prepared for potential daily contact with incarcerated individuals within a forensic mental health environment.
