The Opportunity
JBT Marel is one of the largest solutions providers to the global food processing industry. The largest food processors within the fruit, vegetable, meat, poultry, seafood, and bakery industries. Avure, a JBT team, manufactures High Pressure Processing (HPP) machines that pasteurizes food through high pressure instead of heat and chemicals making food healthier and taste better.
JBT Marel Avure Technologies is looking for a Controls Engineer to add to our team that is responsible for electrical controls improvements and new developments on our High-Pressure Processing (HPP) machines. You have a clear and precise goal of optimizing the performance and cost of new capital equipment. You will collaborate with colleagues in a small but very competent engineering team with experience of pressure vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Create wiring diagrams, PLC programs and control panel designs that result in safe and efficient operation.
- Ensure that new designs are safe, cost-effective, reliable, and easy to service.
- Ensure that components and assemblies meet national and international standards.
- You will help test and sometimes also commissioning of new equipment at customer sites.
- Document updates to ensure revision control.
- Enter drawings, BoM's, and other documentation into a PLM database.
- You will document work procedures and ensure through the engineering process.
- Support us when engineering related questions arise.
- Remote support to Field Service Engineers to resolve customer issues when they arise.
- You will communicate with subcontractors and outside specialists when needed. Participate in customers' meetings to improve their processes and usage of their equipment.
- Have detailed understanding of our equipment to support troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- We ask that you have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- 3-5 years' experience in control systems applications ( Allen-Bradley)
- 3-5 years' experience in electrical engineering with CAD.
- 3+ years' experience work with manufacturing and installation of capital equipment great skill to have.
- Familiar with national and international standards.
- Deep interest in general IT and computer related questions.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical prints, schematics, and systems required.
- Working knowledge of closed-loop control circuits, feedback loops, transducer circuits, and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solutions and documentation skills required.
Preferred Additional Skills/ Experience
- Experience with Solidworks Electrical.
- Experience with RSLogix 5000.
- Experience with AVEVA Edge.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Experience with Teamcenter PDM.
- Experience with project success by overcoming obstacles.
- Understanding of UL, NFPA, CE, OSHA, and other industry codes and requirements.
Travel & Location
- You will be onsite and travel up to 10% of the time including international.
