Software Developer

Join our dynamic team and play a key part in maintaining the Firm’s applications and third-party systems while ensuring reliable performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting our business needs. Hodgson Russ LLP, a regional law firm with 230+ attorneys in 10 offices, is seeking aSoftware Developerto join our busy Information Technology department resident in our Buffalo office. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Developing, creating, and modifying the Firm’s custom applications, utility programs, and workflows.
• Evaluating, installing, administrating, and supporting third-party business systems.
• Resolving software and database-related problems and maintenance, system tuning, capacity planning, and applicable report writing software.
• Experience in .NET, ASP.NET and developing and maintaining console and web applications in C# is a must.
• Administer and support Microsoft SharePoint Online.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) is a plus but not required.
• Diagnosing and repairing day-to-day issues with the applications and data systems.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to meet deadlines and focus on details. You will interface frequently and extensively with members of the user community at all levels of the organization as well as with IT team colleagues. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information management systems, with three years’ experience in applications development or a closely related role.

At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual salary range for this position, if the successful applicant is based in Buffalo is $69,740 to $85,555. Where a successful applicant is slotted within this range will vary based on legitimate criteria, such as experience and skill level.
