Software Developer Intern

General Summary 

The Software Developer Intern will gain valuable "hands on" experience and training by working in collaboration with  skilled professionals in the Core Technology department to learn about the systems and tools used to build and deploy custom applications in a dynamic feature film production environment.   

Job Functions 

• Work with software engineers and technical directors on a variety of projects including unit test development, code base refactoring, configuration and dependency management, and application development.
• Code in a variety of languages while adhering to best practices pertaining to use of style guides, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development cycle including requirements gathering, software design, prototyping, development, testing, and deployment.
• Complete independent projects including research and integration of new 3rd party tools. 

Qualifications 

• Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college/university, or graduated within the last 12 months, with a focus in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant areas of study; recent Computer Science or Engineering- related certificates from non-degree programs also accepted.   
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Node.js, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of data structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with, 3D graphics, rendering, visual effects, and video encoding.

Salary 

$20.00/hour set rate, non-negotiable
