The Solutions & Marketing is a dedicated group of professionals focused on developing and maintaining the e-Gro application, designed to optimize agricultural processes through advanced technology and data analytics. Our team encompasses a diverse range of expertise, including software development, project management, cloud computing, customer support, and marketing. The Solutions & Marketing team is committed to leveraging technology to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability, providing cutting-edge solutions to modern farming challenges.
What you will be doing:
Grodan (part of Rockwool) is currently looking for a Software Developer Trainee to join the team. The project is a web application for growers to forecast and optimize the growing process. You would be responsible for the implementation of features, production maintenance, planning releases and automation/optimization of processes. The offer is dedicated to future back-end and full-stack developers.
What you bring:
We are looking for a candidate who is likely a student in Computer Science, or other IT-related programs (we will consider any other background if you have relevant experience), and ideally has experience from a similar student job.
It will bring you in a good position to apply for the job if you:
Current student status;
You have just started your master's studies or are in the final year of your bachelor's degree - you must have a minimum of one year of study ahead of you;
Availability min. 25h/week;
Understanding of OOP principles & good code design;
Basic understanding of Python & JS syntax;
Basic knowledge of the Spring and Spring Boot Framework, React Framework;
Basic knowledge of Hibernate mapping framework ;
Understanding and ability to use Java 8 - Streams;
Basic knowledge of SQL language;
Basic experience with Git versioning system;
Ability to be able to understand and create the documentation in English is a must-have as part of the team is based in USA, Netherlands. You should be able to communicate speak and write in English on at least B1 level. On daily basis we use Polish but for documentation and with outside co-workers we use English.

Back End: Java 17+, Spring; Front End: React, Typescript;
Frameworks: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JUnit 4, Mockito, React, Redux, Formik, Highcharts;
Authentication and authorization service: Auth0;
Tools: Atlassian stack, Jira, IntelliJ;
CI / CD: Gitlab CI;
AWS cloud services;
Automated testing Playwright (unit, integration, e2e).
