Job Description

I. Purpose 

This position plays a key role in designing, building, and supporting the business applications that power our organization and mission. The Software Engineer works closely with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into reliable, scalable solutions, which enhance both internal operations and member-facing systems.

II. Key Responsibilities 

  1. Conducting user requirements analysis, system design, development, and ensuring quality control.
  2. Generating detailed technical documentation relevant to the technology in use.
  3. Overseeing assigned application and database development, as well as maintenance projects, with an emphasis on timely and precise completion.
  4. Offering technical support to end-users, including problem diagnosis, resolution, and comprehensive documentation.
  5. Evaluating third-party software to ensure alignment with user requirements for business applications.
  6. Establishing and maintaining integrations with external vendor systems.
  7. Investigating and prototyping with emerging technologies to keep our systems updated and competitive.

IV. Autonomy & Decision Making: 

While following the established Information Systems development methodologies and quality assurance standards, there will be a high level of independence and latitude in performing duties. Collaboration with and among Information Systems, organizational business units, and external vendors will also be required.

V. Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications: 

Knowledge typically acquired through:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field.

Skills 

  • Proficiency in C# (Microsoft .NET / .NET Core), Visual Studio, SQL, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, API development and integration, and JavaScript frameworks would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to produce clear, precise technical documentation.
  • A track record of application development using Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to swiftly changing priorities.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
